Ninja Republic is looking for a few good people to join our team. Never tried ninja warrior before? No problem, we'll teach you so you can teach others. If you're athletic and understand body mechanics you can learn how to be a ninja warrior. And then you can learn how to teach it!

Head Ninja Instructor / Coach

The Head Instructor / Coach position presents an opportunity to put your stamp on a quickly-growing business as an integral member of Ninja Republic. This role is the most important hire in the short history of Ninja Republic as it will elevate us to being a “real” ninja gym. As such, you have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to establish our trajectory.

The Head Instructor will work closely with the owner to create, from scratch, a class and training program. Your objective will be to expand each ninja participant’s skills, strength, and personal confidence. Your secondary objective will be to start and grow a competition team. Our first goal is to host an in-house competition; from here we’ll develop a team that competes in the Bay Area Ninja League (BANL). Ultimately we’d like to host a regional UNAA event, or at the very least, be in a position where we’re sending competitors to UNAA events.  Additionally, the Head Instructor will lead weekly and monthly maintenance for the obstacles, weekly obstacle changes and overall design for the flow and challenges in the arena. In this role you will end up being a huge contributor to the culture of Ninja Republic, responsible for creating a fun, challenging and safe environment for each member of Ninja Republic.

Requirements:

  • A passion for fitness and ninja warrior

  • Positive, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality

  • Leadership experience supervising a team

  • Train & help grow the Instructor staff

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule - AFTERNOON / EVENING & WEEKEND AVAILABILITY

  • Build client relationships through outstanding hospitality

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients of all ages and abilities

  • Passion for working with kids and teens

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Computer Skills – Must have basic knowledge of how to use a computer

  • General construction and maintenance skills or willingness to learn (use of drills, hammers, wrenches, etc...)

  • Ability to work on feet for a full 8-hour shift

  • Ability to lift 50lbs

  • Ability to work at heights (can NOT be afraid of heights)

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating a ninja instruction program

  • Teaching that program and curriculum & training other instructors to do the same

  • Working with kids of all ages

  • Work with and train current staff on obstacle standards and maintenance

  • Supervise other instructors

  • Coordinate with the management and staff to complete obstacle changes and arena maintenance

  • Provide direction to clients regarding their health & fitness

  • Provide information to clients regarding class packages, memberships, promotions and events

  • Drive participation to development program, events and promotions

 

Key Attributes of Desired Candidate:

  • Athletic, health and fitness focused

  • Fantastic communication skills with adults and kids

  • 1-3 years coaching experience

  • 1-3 years ninja warrior experience preferred

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000 to $60,000 DOE

Ninja Warrior Instructor

Do you watch American Ninja Warrior and think to yourself "I could do that"? Better yet, have you done thatWe're looking for some good ninja warrior instructors. Personal trainers, gymnasts and rock climbers all make great ninja warriors. Even if you haven't done ninja warrior before but you understand body mechanics and how to teach those mechanics to a student, we can train you on ninja-specific elements.

 

Requirements:

  • You must be athletically fit and able to explain & demonstrate body mechanics. These demonstrations will require you to swing from bars 10' above the ground, support your body weight with just your fingers and run up a 12' warped wall

  • You must be available for classes in the late afternoons and early evenings

  • You must be comfortable instructing kids and adults alike

  • Must have transportation to 1701 Leslie Street in San Mateo (we are right next to Hayward Park Caltrain station and the El Camino bus stop is 3 blocks away) 

NOT A REQUIREMENT: 

You won't have to consider it your full-time employment. If you also coach another sport that's cool, as long as you cover your assigned classes for the month

You won't have to give people a tour of the facility or pitch them on buying a membership ;)

Part-time Ninja Instructor
(College & High School Students)

Do you have what it takes to be a ninja warrior instructor? Do you like working with kids? Are you looking for a fun, athletic and rewarding part-time job? If you answered yes to all three of these questions we want to talk to you about being a ninja instructor at Ninja Republic!

We’re looking for athletic high school and/or college students who are comfortable teaching, playing with, and managing a group of kids in a ninja warrior gym. Never climbed a warped wall before? No problem, we’ll teach you how to ninja and then how to teach it. Most importantly, we are looking for people who are passionate about athletics in general. We want people on our team who will contribute to an environment that leaves young ninjas happy and fulfilled. Ninja warriors support each other. They compete with each other but they help their competitors and lift them up. It’s on us to make young ninjas feel like we truly care about their physical, social, and emotional well being.

Requirements:

  • This is a job that requires athleticism and physical strength, as well as the ability to demonstrate body mechanics

  • Be available to work at least one afternoon/evening shift during the week and at least one shift on either Saturday or Sunday. You can earn more hours than that but that's the minimum requirement.

  • Must have transportation to 1701 Leslie Street in San Mateo

Pay: $19 - $22 per hour DOE + tips from birthday parties

Part-time Ninja Party Host
(High School Students)

Do you like working with kids? Do your neighbors recommend you as a babysitter? Can you make a kid feel like the center of the universe on their birthday? If your answer is yes to all of these questions we want to talk to you about being a ninja party host at Ninja Republic this fall!

We’re looking for high school students who are comfortable managing a group of 20 kids at a ninja warrior birthday party.  Never climbed a warped wall before? Can't climb a warped wall? No problem, we’ll teach you the basics, but what we're really looking for is someone who can make the guest of honor's parents feel like their kid just had the best party in the world and it was worth every penny. We want people on our team who will contribute to an environment that leaves young ninjas and their friends happy and fulfilled and wanting to come back!! 

Requirements:

  • This is a physically demanding job. Think of it like a waiting job at a popular restaurant on a Saturday night. You'll be serving pizza & cake to 20 kids and helping parents enjoy their kid's party.

  • Be available to work at least one four-hour shift on either Saturday or Sunday. You can work both days if you're available but that's the minimum requirement.

  • Must have transportation to 1701 Leslie Street in San Mateo

Pay: $17.35/hr + tips from happy parents
