Competitions
Team Ninja Republic trains to compete in local and national competitions. Ninja Republic is one of the host gyms for the Bay Area Ninja League (BANL) as well as the Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association (UNAA). We also partner with the Wolfpack Pentathlon Club to host the Obstacle Course Race (OCR) portion of pentathlon qualifiers.
If you've done gymnastics or rock climbing and are looking to use your talents for something a little more fun and freeform, you should join one of our ninja team practices. Even if you just like to swing your body around with reckless abandon, we can get you hitting a buzzer in less time than you'd think.

UNAA
Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association
Season 11 - Dec 20
Ninja Republic is proud to be hosting two UNAA competitions for Season 11. On December 20th we'll be hosting a UNAA Local Qualifier and in Spring ’26 we'll be hosting the UNAA Regional Qualifier. All podium finishers at the Local Qualifier will be invited to the Regional Qualifier; all podium finishers at the Regional Qualifiers will be invited to the National Finals in Dallas.
The Local Qualifier has a category for everyone so regardless of your skill level, you're invited to push your limits on a challenging course. Age categories start at 7U (7yrs and younger as of 1/1/25) and go all the way up to Pro Division and even 40+ and 50+. If you can run an obstacle course you can compete in UNAA!
Talan Yorn will be designing a holiday-themed course and the best smash burger truck in the Bay Area will be back on site serving its delicious post-run burgers!

BANL
Bay Area Ninja LEague
BANL Season 5 starts in mid-September, with levels for ALL ages and skill levels. Think of BANL as ‘AYSO for ninja’ with a heavy emphasis on participation.
1. September 14 @ The Cave in Corte Madeira
2. October 5 @ MVMNTM in Concord
3. October 25 @ Ninja Republic in San Mateo
4. November 15 @ Traverse in Richmond
Finals: December 7 @ The Cave
12 points are needed to qualify for the Finals. Each competition has 12 potential points with two clean runs. There is no limit to falls - if you fall, keep going until you have attempted every obstacle or run out of time!
Our Oct 25th competition will have a Halloween theme, with some ghoulish holds arriving just in time to spook you on the course. The best smash burger truck in the Bay Area will be on site so you can fuel up after your run.
* Please note that Sawyer Software, the booking software we use, charges a $1.99 fee for every registration. This is on top of subscription and transaction fees we pay them. We do not share in that $1.99 fee and have no ability to remove it.
